Desk Kart 2

Desk Kart 2 is a 3D go-kart racer on a desktop circuit. A tiny red go-kart laps a black asphalt ribbon with red-and-white curbs and glowing pink and blue neon rails, across a wooden desk — past a giant glowing keyboard, under a desk lamp, and through two loop-de-loops. No account, no downloads — just pick a mode and drive.

How to play

Pick a mode on the start screen. Ghost Time Trial is solo laps against a translucent ghost car replaying your best lap — the ghost is visible but never collides with you. Ghost Race is 3 laps against 7 ghost karts on staggered paces; you race their progress, and your position runs P1 to P8 by laps plus distance along the track.

Drive with W to accelerate, A / D to steer, and S to brake or reverse. On mobile, use the on-screen LEFT, RIGHT, ACCEL, and BRAKE buttons. A lap only counts after a full circuit — crossing the start line right after the start does not advance the lap counter. In Time Trial your best lap saves on your device, and the ghost only appears once you have set a lap. In Ghost Race the results screen shows your finishing position, best lap, and total time.

Switch cameras with 1 Chase, 2 Cockpit, 3 Full Desk, and 4 Drone. Press M to mute, Esc or P to pause, and R for a fast restart. The pause menu offers Resume, Restart, Quit to Menu, and Back to Hub — the hub link is also on the start screen.

Game mechanics explained

The ghost in Time Trial is a replay of your own best lap, so the live delta in the HUD tells you exactly where you are gaining or losing time: green when you are ahead of your ghost, red when you are behind. Beating the ghost on a lap sets a new best, and the ghost updates to match it.

In Ghost Race the 7 ghosts follow fixed racing lines at staggered paces and never collide with you — position is purely about progress, so a clean line beats wall-scraping every time. The track's loop-de-loops and banked curves are part of the racing line, not shortcuts: stay on the asphalt and the lap counts.

High score tips

• Run Time Trial first and set a lap, even a slow one — once the ghost exists, every lap becomes a race against yourself.
• Watch the delta, not just the clock. A green delta on the twisty middle of the lap is worth more than a fast start.
• Try the Drone camera (4) once to learn the track shape, then race in Chase (1) — knowing where the loops and banked curves sit keeps you off the walls.
• In Ghost Race, don't chase the leaders into the walls. A clean lap at your own pace moves you up as the slower ghosts fall behind.
